Step 1 – Identified your market/ audience.
Taking the time to identify your market is most often replaced with the designing and production of the products. Which in most cases results in the failure of most start clothing lines. They create products for a market it small and hard to reach or doesn’t exist at all. By identify your market first, your are ensuring that your will have an audience that would be interested and willing to buy your products. The more specific, the better.

Step 2 - Define your Why.
You should be able to state your why in 3 sentences of less. Some question that you should be able to answer are; Why are you starting your clothing line? What is the purpose and meaning behind your clothing line? Knowing your why will help focus your message and help reinforce your purpose as a company. Yes, I said company. At the end of the day your clothing line is a business. So you must treat it as such.
Steps 3 – Develop Intentional product.
Now that you’ve taking the time to identify your market and you define your Why, now you can develop a product that embodies your why while appealing to the needs of your target market/ audience.
Steps 4 – Make market/ audience aware of your clothing line and mission.
Great product fail everyday due to lack of effective marketing. Your marketing strategy is just as important as the time you spend on producing your product. You must know the hangouts of your market both physically and online. What location events and businesses does your market participant frequent or what social media platforms do the use. What hashtag do they follow and what accounts are they most likely to follow and engage with. Once that is identified place your products in front of your audience in a way that compels them to engage.
Steps 5 – Create compelling CALLS TO ACTION.
Once your target market/ audience has engaged with your product you must present them with an enticing offer. Which is all referred to as a “Call to Action.” There are Two different types of calls of action that you can have:
Ø Transition call to action “Transition CTA” - Is more or less giving the customer value (Special Offer).
Example: “Here is a 50% discount off your 1st purchase” or “If you sign up for our email list and get exclusive access to next season’s collection.”
Ø Direct call to action "Direct CTA" - Is asking for a sale directly. Without proper awareness it may be a little came across aggressive and/or pushy.
Example: Hey, can you purchase to my clothing. This is my clothing line, This is my t-shirt, this is my sweater, this is my fleece purchase it.
Steps 6 – Analyzed conversion/sells.
You’ve identified your MARKET.
You’ve defined your WHY
You’ve created a PRODUCT that actually serves that market while embodying your why
You’ve made that market AWARE of your clothing and
You’ve created compelling CALLS TO ACTION.
At this point someone should have actually purchasing your clothing line. – When you get a sale from someone who is not a family member—not your mom, not your grandma, not your cousin, not a good friend, not a childhood friend. you should gold. You really want to figure out why that person purchased your product, what compelled them to actually support you.
Steps 7 – Refined and Build.
In this step, you can actually take that data, and you’re no longer speculating. You can actually use that hard data and build around it. You make sure. You use that data information so that you can refine your product, process, and message.
